Meet the people of Ponce Church
Tolivar and his lovely wife Sam hail from Ohio. Sam and Tolivar have 3 beautiful children, Hailey, Riley, and Anthony. After 11 years with Campus Crusade, the Lord led Tolivar to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Prior to Ponce Church, Tolivar served as an assistant pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church in Connecticut and helped plant a church in The Hill community of New Haven.
Sam and Tolivar both love college football, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and spending time with friends and family.
Both native Georgians, Larrie and her husband Andrew grew up in Augusta. After three years studying Church Music and Theology at the University of Mobile, Larrie received an undergraduate degree in Contemporary Writing and Production from Berklee College of Music (Boston) and a Masters in Scoring for Film from Berklee Valencia. In support of Beloved Atlanta, Larrie released her first worship EP You and i (2015) under the artist name the little spark.
Larrie enjoys spending time with Andrew, family, and friends, as well as cooking, reading, traveling, volunteering, and running with their dogs.
Cam and Kiley Washington are Alpharetta natives, but city people at heart. Cam is in pursuit of ordination in the PCA and is also an amateur self-taught barista. Kiley is a an actress who spent most of her childhood in a dance class and does not do the sports. They met working together at Perimeter Church and have been married for 3 years. They came to Ponce in 2018 and have loved their time here. They don't have any kids but Kiley is working on convincing Cam to adopt a dog. Baby steps.
Hung and his wife Emily are from the Atlanta area. They have 4 children: Holland, Ella, Ben, and Emerson. After graduating college in 2001, Hung was on staff with Campus Outreach Augusta. Hung and his arrived at Ponce Pres. in 2009, previously spending two years church planting in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Emily and Hung love hanging out with people and eating at Atlanta's diverse restaurants. Hung likes telling jokes and playing sports (except soccer).
Women's director and Worship Assistant
Nikki Ellis has been a church music consultant and jazz vocalist with over 10 years experience as a touring performer and worship music facilitator. Nikki and her husband Byung enjoy traveling and experiencing new places. Nikki, a Tennessee native and avid city lover, can be found exploring the city, frequenting open mic nights, or searching for other places where artists regularly gather.
Ashley started working for Ponce Church in August 2015. She and her husband, Matt, came to Atlanta in 2014 and have loved their time here. While not at the office, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband and their amazing babies, James and Noa; hanging out with friends; reading; cooking; eating chocolate; and finding good new shows to watch with Matt when the kids go to bed.
Chris Blackman was born out west, but spent his formative years in the Chattanooga, TN area until he moved to Atlanta in 2011. He meet his wife Kelsey at the LDR conference in St. Louis and they were married May 2018. They are expecting their first child this spring. Chris studied World History at Kennesaw State University. After graduating, he felt the call to pursue pastoral ministry and began studying at Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta where he will graduate in May 2019. Chris and Kelsey feel called to cross-cultural ministry in the church. Chris is a major foodie and amateur chef. He loves exploring the city, reading history, movies, and spending time with people.
